# Free and Pro

> Which features the free version includes and which need a license.

The free version is a complete SEO plugin. Titles, descriptions, sitemaps, schema, social tags, redirects, a 404 monitor, robots.txt, llms.txt, and AI crawler logging are all included, and the important ones are on by default.

Pro adds the parts that do ongoing work for you: watching for slug changes, suggesting links, marking up answers, submitting URLs, and verifying who is really reading your site.

## Roles

Per-role access control over Rankify's screens and per-post SEO fields is Pro.

## The three Pro features that matter most

<Steps>
  <Step title="Verified crawler identity">
    A user agent is a string anyone can send. Free logging tells you something claimed to be GPTBot; Pro confirms it by reverse DNS or the vendor's published IP ranges. Without that, your AI numbers can be inflated by anything that wants to look like a crawler.
  </Step>

  <Step title="AI referral tracking">
    A crawler reading a page proves it is reachable. A person arriving from a ChatGPT or Perplexity answer proves it was cited. That second number is the one worth optimizing against, and most analytics bury it under generic referral traffic.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Automatic redirects on slug change">
    The single most common way a site loses traffic is renaming a published page and forgetting the redirect. Pro writes the 301 the moment you save, and repoints the existing rule rather than building a chain if you rename twice.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Pro is sold as the DaftPlug membership rather than as a single-plugin upgrade. One license covers Rankify and every other DaftPlug Pro plugin, and plans differ only in the number of site activations.
