Requirements

Under Settings > Permalinks, anything other than Plain works. On Plain permalinks the sitemap and llms.txt URLs cannot be served.

Install the free plugin

Search the plugin directory

In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New and search for Rankify.

Install and activate

Select Install Now, then Activate.

Run the setup wizard

Rankify opens a short wizard on first activation. It takes a couple of minutes and is described below.

Install Pro from a ZIP

Pro is a separate plugin rather than an unlock applied to the free one, so it is distributed as a ZIP.

Download the ZIP

Sign in at daftplug.com/account and download the Rankify Pro archive.

Upload it

Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, and select Install Now.

Activate

Select Activate Plugin. If the free version is installed and active, Rankify deactivates it for you.
Your settings survive the switch. Both versions read the same rankify_settings option.

Activate your license

Open the activation screen

After activating Pro, WordPress shows an activation notice. You can also reach it from Rankify > Account.

Enter your license key

Paste the key from your purchase confirmation email, then select Activate License.
DaftPlug is sold as one membership rather than as separate plugins. The same license key activates Rankify and every other DaftPlug Pro plugin. Plans differ only in how many sites you can activate on.

Before anything else

Two site-wide conditions override everything Rankify does. Both are raised at the top of the settings screen rather than buried in a tab, because nothing else works while either is true.
Settings > Reading has Discourage search engines from indexing this site ticked. Every sitemap, canonical, and schema tag is irrelevant while this is on. Untick it.This is normal on a staging site and a disaster on a live one, so check it the day you launch.
Two plugins writing the same tags means duplicate titles and descriptions, and search engines pick between them unpredictably. Deactivate the other one.You do not need to export anything first. See switching to Rankify.

The setup wizard

The wizard covers the settings that cannot be guessed. Everything else already has a sensible default.

Welcome

Confirms Rankify is active and flags the site if it is hidden from search engines.

Who publishes this site

Whether the site represents an organization or a person, and the name to use. This becomes the root of your schema graph, and everything else attaches to it.

Existing data

If another SEO plugin’s data is present, Rankify tells you it will be used as a fallback. Nothing is imported and nothing is overwritten.

What gets indexed

Anything that should stay out of search results. Sensible defaults are already applied; this is for the pages specific to your site.

Search Console and social

Your Google Search Console verification code, and the sitemap URL to submit there.

Done

Points you at the overview page, where the setup checklist lists whatever still needs attention.
You can skip it and configure everything from the settings screen instead. The overview checklist covers the same ground.

What works immediately

Rankify enables the correct defaults on activation, so a fresh install is already doing the important things. What is off until you ask for it: breadcrumbs, media pages, email notifications, News and video sitemaps, and local SEO.

First things to do

Submit your sitemap

Add https://example.com/sitemap.xml to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Rankify generates it, but nobody is told it exists until you say so.

Set a fallback share image

Under Social. Without one, a shared page with no featured image renders as a bare text link.

Add your organization logo

Under Schema. Google needs at least 112 by 112 pixels for organization rich results.

Check the overview checklist

It lists what is still missing, in the order worth fixing.
