Titles and meta

The title and description search engines show for a page, and the starting point for what AI assistants quote.
template
default:"%%title%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%"
The default title pattern for every page. Individual posts can override it in the editor.
select
default:"-"
The character %%sep%% becomes. Options are a dash, an en dash, a pipe, a middle dot, or a slash.Keep it consistent across the site. Mixed separators look careless in a results page, and it is one of the few purely cosmetic choices that shows up in every listing you appear in.
template
default:"%%excerpt%%"
The default description pattern. %%excerpt%% falls back to the first part of the content when a post has no excerpt.

Template variables

Templates are a starting point, not a finished title. A generated title is better than nothing, but the pages you care about deserve one written by hand in the editor. Do that for your homepage, your main service or product pages, and anything already ranking.
Per-post overrides beat the template. Values another SEO plugin stored are also read as a fallback, so titles you wrote in Yoast or Rank Math keep working. See switching to Rankify.
toggle
default:"off"
Outputs a breadcrumb trail with BreadcrumbList structured data, which is what turns the URL line in a Google result into a readable path.
string
default:"/"
The character shown between levels.
Off by default because many themes output their own breadcrumbs. Enabling this alongside a theme that already has them gives visitors two trails and search engines two BreadcrumbList blocks. Check your theme first.

Site verification

Proves you own the site so you can use each engine’s webmaster tools. Rankify supports Google, Bing, Yandex, Pinterest, and Baidu. Paste either the token or the whole <meta> tag; Rankify extracts the token either way.
1

Start with Google

Add your site in Search Console, choose the HTML tag method, and paste the value here. Search Console is where you submit your sitemap and see what is actually indexed.
2

Then Bing

Bing Webmaster Tools takes the same sitemap, and Bing’s index feeds several AI assistants, so it matters more than its search share suggests.
3

The rest are optional

Yandex, Baidu, and Pinterest are worth it only if you have an audience there.
Verification proves ownership. It does not affect ranking, and adding a code does not submit anything on its own. You still submit your sitemap inside each tool.
