Progressify > Settings > General This tab has a single job: deciding where the plugin’s features are active. Everything Progressify adds to the front end respects this setting, not just the PWA itself.

  • Mobile browsers — visitors on a phone or tablet browser.
  • Desktop browsers — visitors on a desktop browser.
  • Installed PWAs — visitors who have already installed your app and are running it in its own window.

When to narrow the platforms

Most sites should leave this on. Two cases justify narrowing it.
Select Mobile browsers and Installed PWAs. Desktop visitors get your normal site with no install banner, no tab bar, and no app-like components, while phone users get the full treatment.
Select Installed PWAs alone. Nothing changes for ordinary web visitors, and features like the navigation tab bar or pull-to-refresh appear only once someone has installed the app. This keeps your public site untouched while still giving installers an app-like interface.
Excluding a platform also excludes its install prompts, so visitors on that platform have no way to install the app. If you deselect mobile browsers, phone users will never see a prompt and can only install through their browser’s own menu.
